午後から「うちわまき」に行ってきました。

その昔、唐招提寺に覚盛上人というお坊さんがいました。

そのお坊さんは、蚊に刺されても「蚊に血をやるのも仏の道」ということで、

蚊を殺したりしなかったとのことです。

そんな話を聞いた法華寺の尼さんたちが、

「それならばせめてこれで蚊を追い払ってください」

ということでうちわを贈ったのがこの行事の始まりとか。

まずは、抹茶と和菓子を頂きました。

その後、舞楽を楽しみました。

あいにくの雨の中

鐘楼からうちわが撒かれ、
 
無事、うちわを頂戴しました。

I went to 「Uchiwamaki in Toshodaiji 」from this afternoon.

Long times ago, Kakujosyonin worked for Tosyodaiji as a monk.

He has never killed mosquito.

Because his thinking was to give blood for mosquito is the Buddha’way.

Some of the nun in Hokeji heard what he said.

Then they send some fans for him.

and they said 「Please drive mosquito out of temple with this fun.」

This ceremony was from such a interesting story.

I attended tea ceremony.

I had green tea and Japanese sweet.

After that, I enjoyed “Bugaku”.

Unfortunately I was raining today.

Some monks gave many fans from belfry.

I got the fun.
