紀寺の家の庭にだいだいの木があります。

初夏に白い花を咲かせ、冬に実がなります。

果実は、冬になっても落ちることはなく、

そのまま置いておいても2から3年は枝に付いている事から

「だいだい（代々）」と呼ばれています。

その果実を収穫しました。

味は酸味と苦みが強く、マーマレード、調味料、漢方薬の材料として

利用されています。

It has white flower in summer, and it also has orange fruits

in winter.

The fruits have  fell  from the tree for 2-3 years.

So Japanese people call “Daidai”.

“Daidai” means [from generation to generation] in

Japanese.

Today I harvested the fruits.

The taste is strong acidity and bitter.

so people use it as a material for making  marmalade ,

seasoning and  herbal medicine.
